One of New Zealand’s best up and coming race car drivers Callum Hedge will return to the North Island Endurance in the 1Hour Race driving a Porsche 991 Gen1 which he used to win the South Island Porsche Series earlier this year.
Callum Hedge has an outstanding CV with dominance, wining the NZ Formula Ford Championship at age 14 Callum would win the Carevets Toyota 86 Scholarship which he would then go onto win the Toyota 86 Championship at his first attempt wining 7 out of 18races.
Last year Callum signed with Sonic Motor Racing to drive Hunter McElrea’s 2018 Championship wining Formula Ford in the Australian Formula Ford Championship finishing 4th in the standings.
Although Callum was to step up to the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia with Sonic Motor Racing in 2020, due to Covid-19 those plains were put on hold.
Even though this is his first attempt in the series in a car capable of winning, he did race in the 2018 Series driving his Carevets Toyota 86 finishing second in class for the Series.
Callum will be looked after by Ian McNabb and Todd Bickerton who work his him during his Toyota 86 campaign. Callum will be a serious contender for the 2020 Series.
