This season Matt is changing the pace and building his own Honda EK Civic with a H22A Turbo motor.
This year will be his 15th-season racing. Matt has been lucky to be able to do motorsport since he was 7 years old, starting in Go-Karting along the way winning a couple of national titles and 20+ Regional titles. After that he made the step up to Formula first where he did three seasons and in the final year, he came second in the championship.
Then he moved onto BNTV8s and did two seasons of Class Two. In his final year he took 12 wins from 18 starts, 4 out 6 Pole positions and 14 Podiums finishing second in the championship.
“Now we are changing the pace and developing and building our own Honda EK Civic. I have entered the 1 hour at the moment to see if the car and myself can last.” Matt Said.
They are a family run team with his parents and close family friend Steve helping on the spanners. At the moment the car is under the knife getting some improvements but the team is happy with the overall performance. Matt is keeping all his social channels up to date with the latest news, so keep an eye on his Facebook page Matt Podjursky Motorsport
He has been racing tin tops for 3 seasons now but has done 4 meetings to iron the problems out and hopefully hit Taupo running.
He has experience on the tracks as he has done a fair amount of laps at each of the circuits in the North Island, but he is feeling a bit nervous now as it will be his first solo endurance race. – His first endurance was back in the formula first where he and Ron Carter teamed up and won the dual drive one hour endure.-
“Myself and my team want to first get the reliability sorted because the age old saying is you must finish before you can win, so with that in mind we will be gunning for results whilst wanting to get to the end.”
