Qualifying has taken place today at Pukekohe Park Raceway as part of Round one of the 2021 North Island Endurance Series. The 2 Hour Qualifying session was the first to take pace as Shane Parsons and Lindsay Lyons will start from pole position posting a time of 1:14.4 in his Class 3 Honda CR-X, Ken Hunter will start P2 in his Chevrolet Lumina of 1:14.8. Martin Dunn was the top qualifier in Class 2 of a 1:16.8 in his Honda Accord.
Glenn Smith and John de Veth have picked up exactly where they left off by storming in pole position by a whopping 2 whole seconds to the next quickest competitor posting a lap time of 1:02.4.
John Midgley was second fastest with a time of 1:04.4 and was enough to be quickest in GT-B. Brock. Timperley and John McIntyre were third quickest of 1:04.8 and fastest in Class 1. While Lochlainn Fitzgerald-Symes destroyed at GT-C field posting the fourth fastest time of 1:05.5. Anthony Leighs will round up the top 5 in his Audi R8.
The 3Hour qualifying session was the last session to take place where Neil Foster and Jonny Reid made their Championship intentions very clear by posting a time of 1:00.1 second just a tenth faster from Alex Riberas and Darren Kelly Heart of Racing Aston Martin 1:00.2 while Glenn Smith and John de Veth will start P3 in their McLaren.
Steve Harrison and Shane Merlin was fastest in GT-B driving their Aston Martin GT8R posting a time of 1:07.4 while Paul Burborough and Wayne Leach were fastest in Class 1 posting a time of 1:13.5. Racing gets underway tomorrow morning at 9:00 for the 2Hour race 1 11:30 for the 1Hour race and 1:30 for 3Hour the 2Hour race can been seen live on Race Monitor while the 1 and 3 Hour will be broadcasted live on Sky Sport 8 058.
