Shane Parsons and Lindsay Lyons have won the inaugural 2Hour Clubmans Endurance Race from pole position at Pukekohe Park Raceway.
Ken Hunter led the initial stages of the race in his Chevrolet Lumina and raced of into the distance from David Grigor in his Honda Civic in second and Parson/Lyons in third.
Scott Smith and Shaun van Beers were making good ground into the opening 10minutes before a spin lead to several unscheduled pitstops.
The Simon Ussher and Jake Stoneman V8 Ute caused the first safety car of the race after 50minutes when their car stop on the front straight but were able to get back going again.
The Parsons and Lyons entry were able to use the safety car advantage to take over the lead after everyone had made their, compulsory 3minute pitstops.
David Grigor slowly tried to being down the gap between himself and the Parsons/Lyons car before Ken Hunter caused the second safety car after his engine expired after he had got himself back on the lead lap.
It was all on after the restart however Grigor was unable to make a move on Parsons and Lyons despite getting the gap down to under a second.
Stuart Monteith and Brett Rudd would finish third overall and 1st in Class 1 while Glen Reid and Jamie Anderson would win Class 2 and 5th overall after switching their Mazda RX-7 to a BMW E36 328.
