Bruce Kett is back to the North Island Endurance Series in the 1hour race driving his EX-NZV8 Ford Falcon BA Touring.
He raced at the season opener in Pukekohe 2 weeks ago and was greatly surprised by the level of competition, “we haven’t raced for 3 years and now coming back for that first meeting was like bloody hell, cars are too fast now!”.
Bruce started racing in 2006 in a Holden Commodore VK in Northern, Production and Central Muscle Cars in 2009 be switched to a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro in Central Muscle Cars which he still races today.
He raced at our very first NIERDC meeting in 2014 driving a Ford Falcon BA, in 2018 he got fourth outright for the 3Hour series and 1st in Class 1 driving with Shane Johnson.
He’s recently purchased a 1973 Lola T332 Formula 5000 car which he did a round in Formula 5000’s earlier this year.
Bruce has competed in Over 100 race meetings and has race at every active track in New Zealand and has raced three times in Australia.
“I don’t have great expectations for this season. I’m not gonna be able to win because cars are too fast now, there is no way we can win anymore. I just want to have fun, after all this is what is all about!”, Bruce said.
